Machine Gun Competition
Day three was the Gun Competition. Each team consisted of two persons referred to as the Number 1 Gunner and Number Two Gunner. Both gunners have to train together in order to function as a team. They compete using the M249 machine gun. The First Battalion The Jamaica Regiment won the Gun Competition and the Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing was the runner’s up.  The winning two-man team from the Machine Gun Competition
came from the First Battalion The Jamaica Regiment.  A Number 2 Gunner holds the bi-pod while the Number 1 Gunner fires.
