Jamaica Defence Force Defeated Iyante 3-1

In recent action in the Division One JTTA/North west development national table tennis club league, JDF beat newcomers Iyante 3-1 at Up Park Camp, JUTC had a 3-1 victory over visitors Friendship at Twickenham Park and Pembroke Hall crushed defending champions UTech 3-0 at YMCA.
National representative Nigel Webb won two singles matches for JDF against Iyante as he outlasted Kane Watson 3-2 and trounced Dale Parham 3-0. Phillip Drummond and Altamont Henry out played Watson and Lawrence Reid 3-1 in doubles for JDF’s third win. The consolation victory for Iyante came from Parham who eased past Henry 3-0.
Veteran Marlon Chin starred in JUTC’s triumph over Friendship, wining two singles matches for his team. He whipped Rohan Schloss 3-0 and stunned Darryl Strachan 3-1, as Oneil White and Rudolph Sinclair overpowered national champion Joseph Dibbs and Schloss 3-0 in doubles, for JUTC’s third win. Strachan crushed White 3-0 to pull one back for Friendship.
In the Pembroke Hall/UTech match at YMCA, Sean Wallace downed former national champion Ludlow Bailey 3-0 to win the first match for Pembroke Hall, and Utech conceded the next two matches, resulting in a 3-0 triumph.
