THE CARIBBEAN JUNIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE, the first Center of Excellence to be established by the JDF, in conjunction with the Canadian Forces in 1993. Since that time the Caribbean Junior Command Staff College has conducted nineteen serials, training students from Caricom Defence Forces, the Canadian Forces and the Washington DC National Guard. This eighteen and a half week course effectively prepares junior officers to assume battalion level command and staff appointments within a brigade context. It includes operational and non-operational staff work with rigorous individual and group assignments, all under the expert guidance of local and international instructors. The course is run with modern, cutting edge technology to support learning and all students are housed in comfortable accommodations with universal wifi access and supporting ICT infrastructure.
The Caribbean Junior Command and Staff College Complex, located at Moneague Training Camp, Moneague P.O., St Ann was constructed in 2008 through the efforts of the participants of Tropical Hammer 08-01/02 and stands as a symbol of the partnership between Canada and Jamaica. The Complex is established as a premiere location for the facilitation of Courses, Conferences and to a lesser extent Study Days and Retreats (as dictated by HQ JDF).
The Complex is equipped with the following features:
