“The army is definitely good for character building and realizing certain
essentials in life.
“When I go home my peers now see
me as a role model and I endeavor to present the army in a good light.
Contrary to previous belief, I now find that this is more than just a short
time training that I must undergo; rather it is a preparation for a lifetime
of events that are to come. This is more than just a job that I get paid to
do – it is a way of life – the army has become my life.
Pte Dewayne Cunningham who
adopted the JDF Training Depot’s motto as his own, "There is no task too
difficult, no obstacle too great for me", proved himself by coming out with
the highest academic grade overall and ultimately gaining the Academic Award
for Recruit Intake 84. He now serves as a rifleman in Bravo Company – 2JR. |
