The Jamaica Defence Force Netball Team has been competing in national competitions since the 1980s.  Though the players have changed over the years, the standard of performance has not fallen, and with disciplined training has seen them moving forward as strong competitors. In the various competitions held at home and overseas, the team’s military stance always stands out enabling them to consistently win the uniform parades.

The 15-member squad has proven to be a worthy team with the diversity of skills they bring to the game.   The squad is currently competing in two competitions – the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Open League and the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA) Netball Competition.  In the JNA Open League, the team played nine matches and won seven.   They are now at the Knock-out Phase of the competition.   These matches are played at the Lela Robinson Court at the National Stadium in Kingston.  The team has reached the Quarter Finals phase of the JCSA competition.    These matches are played at the Jasecera Park in Kingston.

The successes of the team in the current season’s matches have motivated them to aim to win these competitions and the players are confidently looking forward to competing in the finals of the JNA Open league and the JCSA.   Later this year the team will participate in the Jamaica Netball Association Divisional League and the Victoria Mutual Building Society Business House Competition.
