| THE CORE VALUES OF THE JAMAICA DEFENCE FORCE The core values of the Jamaica Defence Force are the guiding principles that influence our attitudes and regulate our behaviour. They are the all encompassing guidelines for every aspect of our military duties. Discipline Discipline drives all our activities, enforces order, and nurtures esprit de corps and morale. Integrity It is on our integrity that trust is fostered and support is garnered to carry out our tasks. It involves firm adherence to the highest moral values and is a quality expected in every military person. Honour The strength of character that enables us to execute our duties impartially and not from a desire for public recognition but from an appreciation of our responsibilities as servants of our Nation. Commitment The sense of dedication that obligates us to pursue excellence in every endeavour. Reliability, professionalism and dedication to duty are all born of commitment. Courage Courage is the ingrained capacity to meet adversity with fortitude, resilience and resoluteness. It is will-power in the face of danger and extreme difficulty; it is the tenacity and strength of character without which the battle cannot be won. Loyalty The steadfast allegiance to the Constitution of our
Country and unswerving devotion to duty as honourable servants of the Jamaica Defence
