The Ruel Vaz Trophy was
donated by Mr. Ruel Vaz, JP, a former Custos of St. Catherine on the 5
August 1949 for competitions among Units of the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force
(JCCF). The Trophy was made by the Goldsmith and Silversmiths Company in
England.
This competition involves
the top Cadet Unit of each Battalion competing in the areas of:

·Clothing and Turn Out
·Instructional Ability
·Administration
·Display

received the Ruel Vaz Trophy from Lieutenant Colonel Trevor McCurdy (rear)
on behalf of the St. Catherine High School Cadet Unit who won the 2004 final
round.
