"VOLUNTEER AND SHARE"
Jamaica Combined Cadet Force, Office of National Reconstruction and the
National Youth Service, Youth Volunteers Clean-Up Initiative Programme that
started in Negril in October 2004 is making great headway in developing an
attitude of volunteerism and service among its youth participants.

Both the
Jamaica Combined Cadet Force and the National Youth Service have a
well-structured programme for young persons with a mandate for volunteerism
and service and the clean up initiative was designed to further encourage
and develop the ethics of volunteerism, community spirit and national pride
in all participants.
Three Thousand
Seven Hundred and Eighty Four (3,784) man-hours service has to date been
given by the 557 volunteers of the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force. The
communities serve are:
Norman Manley Boulevard – Negril
Hope Zoo – St Andrew
Salem – Runaway Bay – St Ann
Alligator Pond – St Elizabeth
Annotto Bay & Pagee – St Mary
Hope Bay, Bryan & Prospect – Portland
Old Harbour Bay – St Catherine
Rae Town – Kingston
The final
project was completed 17 Apr 05 at Rae Town where the large clean up was
culminated with a closing ceremony and fete for the community and
volunteers.
