Do you wish to serve in the Military?
The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) will be embarking on an Islandwide
Recruiting Drive over the period 12 to 22 May 2003.
Young men who are interested in enlisting in the JDF may visit any one of
the following Recruiting Centres at 7:30 a.m. on the dates indicated to sit
a written examination:

Interested persons must meet the following criteria:
-
Be a minimum age of 18 years, and a maximum of 23 years (i.e. you should not
yet have reached your 24th birthday).
-
Be of Jamaican Nationality.
-
Be a minimum of 170 cm (5’7”) tall.
-
Have attained a minimum education of Grade 9.
-
Should be single and have no dependents.
All applicants will undergo a medical examination.
Those diagnosed with the following will not be considered and therefore need
not apply:
-
Dental cavities
-
Previous broken limbs/knee injury
-
Heart problem
-
History of asthma or epilepsy
-
Abnormal curvature of spine
-
Deformity of fingers or toes
-
Undergoing mental treatment
-
Diabetic
-
History of Sickle Cell Disease
Applicants should ensure that they are in possession of an immunization card
and have received vaccinations for the following:

Chicken Pox
-
Polio
-
Measles
-
Diphtheria
-
Mumps
-
Rubella
Applicants are also required to take along the following:
-
Two (02) recent recommendations (not more than three (03) months old).
-
Two (02) recent passport-sized photographs, certified by a Justice of the
Peace.
-
A certified copy of Birth Certificate (original).
-
A certified copy of School Leaving Certificate/School Record and any other
academic achievement.
