Warrant Officer Class One Albert Ayre Warrant Officer Class 1 Albert Ayre is the Regimental Sergeant Major for the Headquarters Jamaica Defence Force Intelligence Unit. . He was appointed in January 2000. WO1 Albert Ayre attended the Lewisburgh All Age School in St Mary. He enlisted in the Jamaica Defence Force in January 1979 and did his recruit training in New Castle. He then went on to serve in the Second Battalion the Jamaica Regiment (2JR) from 1979-1989 and was then posted to the HQ JDF Intelligence Unit. WO1 Albert Ayre attended various development courses which includes: Regimental Signals Instructors Course, Junior Command and Leadership Course, RACAL Operators Training Course, Senior Non-Commission Officer Course, Search Technique Course, Intelligence Training, Basic Radar Operations Course, Video Production Course, Motorola Service Technician Course, Management Studies and Senior Leadership Course. WO1 Albert Ayre also holds a certificate in Micro-Computer Technology from the University of Technology Jamaica. His promotions were as follows: Lance Corporal 1981, Corporal 1984, Sergeant 1990, Staff Sergeant 1993, Warrant Officer Class II 1998, Warrant Officer Class 1 2000. WO1 Ayre was awarded the Medal of Honour for Long Service and Good Conduct and the General Service Medal for Duties in Grenada.
He is a keen sportsman,
participating in cricket and volleyball. He is also the Unit Sports Officer. His hobbies are reading, dancing,
fishing and camping. |
