Antony B Anderson
Acting Commanding Officer JDF Air Wing
Major
Antony Anderson is the Acting Commanding Officer of the Jamaica Defence
Force Air Wing (JDF AW). Major Anderson enlisted in the JDF in 1984 after
graduating from the College of Arts Science and Technology (renamed
University of Technology), in Kingston, Jamaica.
During his military service, Major Anderson held appointments of Infantry
Platoon Commander, Regimental Signals Officer,
Officer in Charge of a Vehicle Light Aid Detachment and Second in Command of
the JDF Workshop.
He has also held the positions of Maintenance Officer of the JDF AW and
Officer Commanding JDF Supply Depot. Other appointments held include Force
Conservation Officer and Senior Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
Officer. He has also taught on the Caribbean Junior Command and Staff Course
for three serials.
Major Anderson is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the
Royal Military College of Science (Cranfield University Campus), both in the
United Kingdom, Canadian Forces Staff School, Canadian Land Forces Command
and Staff College and the United States Command and General Staff College,
Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
He holds a bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Degree in Mechanical
Engineering (Aerial Vehicle Systems) and a Masters Degree in Defence
Administration. His interests and hobbies are Scuba Diving, martial Arts,
Acupuncture and Shooting.
Major Anderson is divorced and has one child, Katherine Natasha.
