JOIN THE JAMAICA DEFENCE FORCE NOW 

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) will be embarking on a Recruiting Drive

 29 March to 07 April 2004.

Young men who are interested in enlisting in the JDF may visit any one of the following Recruiting Centres at 7:30 a.m. on the dates indicated:

            Mandeville                    :    Foster Barracks

                                                     121 Manchester Road

                                                     Mandeville

                                                     Monday 29 March and Tuesday 30 March 2004

            Port Maria                    :  Whitehorne Barracks, Main Street

                                                   Port Maria

                                                   Wednesday 31 March and Thursday 01 April 2004

            Kingston                       : Up Park Camp

                                                  Camp Road

                                                   Kingston 5

                                                  Monday 05 to Wednesday 07 April 2004

            Interested persons must meet the following criteria :

Be a minimum age of 18 years, and a maximum of 23 years (i.e. you should not yet have reached your   24^th birthday).

            Be of Jamaican Nationality.

            Be a minimum of 170 cm (5’7") tall.

            Have attained a minimum education of Grade (9).

Should be single and have no dependents.

All applicants will undergo a medical examination.   Those diagnosed with the following will not be considered and therefore need not apply:

            Dental Cavities. 

            Previous broken limbs/knee injury. 

            Hearth problem. 

            History of asthma or epilepsy. 

            History of Sickle Cell Disease 

            Abnormal curvature of spine. 

            Deformity of fingers or toes. 

            Undergoing mental treatment. 

            Diabetic.

Applicants should ensure that they are in possession of an immunization card and have received vaccinations for the following:

            Chicken Pox

            Polio

            Measles

            Diphtheria

            Mumps

            Rubella

Applicants are also required to take along the following:

       Two (02) recent recommendations (not more than three (03) months  old).

       Two (02) recent passport sized photographs, certified by a Justice of the Peace.

       A certified copy of Birth Certificate (original).

       A certified copy of School Leaving Certificate/School Record and any other academic achievements.

Applicants must be properly attired in Shirt and tie and appropriate trousers.   Applicants wearing jeans and T-shirts will not be interviewed.
