As if paying homage to the bright, sunny day which greeted the Force Netball Championship, the women of the JDF Civilian Netball Team turned up in bright yellow outfits to outshine and outscore their competition. The Force Netball Championship was held at its usual home at Lathbury Barracks, Up Park Camp on 25 May 2011.

As is customary, the event started with a dress parade that gave the participants a chance to showcase their immaculate uniforms. This year however, the judges had a particularly difficult time deciding on the winner because of the exceptional attention to detail paid by each team. In the end, the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard, decked out in their navy blue and white came out winners of the dress parade. Then it was time for some serious business.

The first game of the Championship set the tone for what was to come as the JDF Civilian team came out blazing. Their sizzling run of form saw them slice through all their opponents before meeting The Support and Services Battalion team in the Championship showdown.

SSB, despite putting up a determined effort in the final, could not keep up with the high tempo civilians and went down 14 - 11 to secure second place.

The Championship would not be complete without the highly anticipated award for the Most Valuable Player and after much consideration, Miss Shelly-Ann Gordon of the JDF Civilian team was voted MVP. Lance Corporal Navalettia Williams of the Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing was adjudged Most Improved Player.
